San Francisco`s Conservatory of Music started out as a private piano school, named for one of the co-founders, Ada Clement. As the school grew, and moved, the name became San Francisco Conservatory of Music in 1923. This new building opened in 2006, with this building named appropriately in honor of Ann Getty in September 2021, who with her husband Gordon Getty, besides being both California natives, he being from San Francisco specifically, as well as the famed music composer, were both big supporters of music and music education. Ann herself died suddenly just the previous September. As seen November 2021.
