The sacred Mount Grabarka is sometimes called the "Mountain of Crosses". Thousands of crosses placed around the Church of the Transfiguration are crosses brought with prayers for help in various difficult life situations: illnesses, misfortunes, and requests for peace for the souls of the deceased. Often these are also crosses of thanksgiving.People have been bringing crosses here since 1710. The number of new crosses increases especially in the period before the Feast of the Transfiguration, when numerous pilgrimages reach the Holy Mountain. However, almost every day someone comes here with a prayer, leaving their cross. Under the visible crosses there are human, "crosses of life": worries, joys, sufferings that pilgrims, leaving on the Mountain, hand over to God. Numerous crosses bear the names and intentions for which the cross was erected.
