In the foreground is a good example of yellow dunes which are part of the mobile dunes, which are part of the dune succession. Where Marram sea grasses are creating a new habitat by forming grassy clumps. This has enabled small flowers to take root. Small waves are breaking gently onto a sandy beach. At the strand line we can see small clumps of seaweed. On the left is a long line of multi-coloured beach huts which are looking out to the rocks that are just off-shore. In the distance we see the small village of Hopeman, complete with its harbour jutting out to sea. There are grey, purple clouds overhead giving a threatening appearance.
