Pikes Peak, located in the Rocky Mountains, is one of the most famous summits in the United States. The 14,115 ft fourteenerââ¬âa mountain exceeding 14,000 ft above sea levelââ¬âstands 8,000 ft high over what is known as the ââ¬ÅPikes Peak region.ââ¬Â This region includes many popular mountain towns at its base such as Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, Cripple Creek, and Cañon City. Popular routes up Pikes Peak include hiking up Barr Trail, driving via Pikes Peak Highway, or taking a ride up the Broadmoorââ¬â¢s Pikes Peak Cog Railway.
