The Church was established by the idea of teachers and students of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, which is an academic institution run by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, and is widely considered the most elite university in Russia. The Church was sacred in honor of Russian Prince Alexander Nevsky 1221-1263, was opened in 2016. Alexander Nevsky is one of the most famous heroes of Russian history and one of the most revered saints in Russia. Alexander Nevsky is the saint patron both of the Russian army and also of diplomacy. Up to nowadays his brilliant foreign policy and ingenious strategy in relations with both Europe and Asia still arouse interest and admiration of researchers.
