Rushing waters of the Pushpawati River flowing through the gorge in the Valley of Flowers National Park in Western Himalayas. The river has its origin in the East Kamet Glacier, near the Garhwal -Tibet border, flowing south and cutting through the park. It is joined by several glacier fed streams in its upper reaches before flowing through the gorge in its lower reaches. Legend has it that several flowers were found floating in the river and hence the name in the local language.
