The crocodile is one of the earliest and most primitive animals found so far. The Mesozoic about two hundred million years ago from the Triassic to the Cretaceous about two hundred million years ago, the ferocious vertebrate reptiles, and dinosaurs were of the same age as the carnivorous animals. A total of 23 species of alligators are recognized. The domestically domesticated crocodile species in China are: alligator, Siam crocodile, alligator, and Nile crocodile; of which three species of crocodile are allowed to operate in the state: Siam crocodile, alligator, Nile crocodile.
