Hisarya called Diocletianopole, Vatusus Augusta Aria, Termeitissina, Toplitsa has a rich millennial history. The favorable climate and mineral waters have attracted the people in these places from the deepest antiquity. There was a prehistoric settlement here before V-IV millennium BC. The later Thracian settlement around the mineral springs was within the borders of the Odrysian kingdom. Around the mineral springs were built healing and religious sanctuaries nymphs. From this period date the great Thracian cult facilities near Starosel. The ancient city entered through 4 large gates. Urban architecture is centered in the central city park to the spring of Momina Tseza. Here was the most representative public building residence. It is a large two-storey building, whose premises end with an impressive arched structure. In the immediate vicinity of it is a bath complex, which covers an area of ​​about 2000 m². The terms of Diocletianopole are one of the few preserved Roman therms on the Balkan Peninsula, where procedures and treatment with mineral water have been performed. Stored almost to the roof, they impress with their originality. On the inside, the premises were lined with white marble. The mineral water was used for heating.
