Van is a rural district of Ha Giang province in the Northeast region of Vietnam. As of 2003, the district had a population of 57,715. The district covers an area of 447 km². The district capital lies at Pho Bang. Near the Chinese-Vietnamese border, this plateau is covered by karst mountains. Van is an ideal place for trekking and mountain climbing, where grandiose mountains may challenge your spirit for real.
