A sundial is a device that tells the time of day when there is sunlight by the apparent position of the Sun in the sky. This sundial is made of a round stone on a cubic base and with a metallic bar in the center of the round stone. The shadow of the bar on the round stone will move as the sun's movement in the sky and thus there is a method for ancient Chinese to know the time in a day.
