Pictured is a marble bust of cardinal and later catholic archbishop Gaetano Alimonda in the Genoa Cathedral. He was boorn in October 1818 and died at age 72 in 1891 after a long ecclesiastical career. The Genoa Cathedral is also called la Cattedrale di San Lorenzo, it was consecrated in 1118 though construction was not completed until the 17th century. The striped exterior is a landmark feature of Genoa, northern Italy.
