Poundbury, Dorchester Dorset England. February 2020. New Town created by Charles Prince of Wales. His attempt to build a town that is modern but has its roots in traditional village society. It consists of High density urban housing with no Zoning. It has a Classical Centre of portico and squares. Vernacular houses are located on outer edge. The aim is is to have a Carbon neutral town. Building started 1996 and will end in 2025. Six thousand inhabitants. HRH desire to return from urbanisation to an integration of private and social housing and business. People over cars. These are examples of how the town has developed to fit his plan.
