Luo Zewen, a famous Chinese archaeologist said: The Great Wall is the utmost of the architecture of the world, while Simatai section is the utmost of the Great Wall. The wall runs right on top of the narrow ridge of the sheer cliff like the backbone of a dinosaur. If you can build a wall on that, you can build a wall anywhere. The watchtower on the summit is called Wangjinglou Watchtower Overseeing the Capital . Standing at 986 metres above sea level, it’s one of the highest points of the entire Wall. It is believed that you can see Beijing 130 km away from that tower on a clear day. This is the view of Simatai Great Wall from Jinshanling after a rain in summer.
