Pictured here is an old antique looking workshop vice or vise. It is mounted on a large wooden plinth that has been reinforced with bolted metal strutts. The Vice is of an unusually long design.The background depicts some sort of basic wooden beamed shed which could suggest a forge or blacksmith building. Also in the image is a railway carriage on a rail track of industrial origin, there is small pieces of coal, coke or clinker on the floor so this could be a mining scene.
