Tundra Swan scientific name: Cygnus columbianus is a large waterfowl with a body length of 110-130 cm and a weight of 4-7 kg. The female bird is slightly smaller. It is very similar in body shape to the whooper swan. It also has a long neck, pure white feathers, black feet and webs, and the body is only slightly smaller. The neck and mouth are slightly shorter than the whooper swan, but it is difficult to distinguish. The easiest way to distinguish them is to compare the size of the yellow color at the base of the mouth. The yellow of the big swan`s beak extends below the nostrils, while the yellow of the cygnet is limited to the sides of the base of the mouth and does not extend below the nostrils along the edge of the mouth. The top of the head to the occiput is often slightly brown, the iris is brown, and the mouth is black. Its sound is crisp, with a whistle like `knocking, hitting`, not like the whistling of a big swan like a horn.
