Pictured is a panel on the High Cross sculpture by Dallas sculptor Eliseo Garcia located at Saint Philip`s Episcopal Church in Frisco, Texas. Carved from a single 4,700 pound piece of Texas limestone, it`s panels depict scenes from the life of Jesus and his resurrection. The tradition of the High Cross dates back to Medieval Ireland and England, where large, sculpted stone crosses were raised outdoors to permanently mark ground that was considered holy. It was dedicated September 11, 2011 on the 19th Anniversary of Saint Philip`s Episcopal Church.
