Surrounded by water on all sides, the ancient town of Tongli is located among five lakes, namely, Tongli, Jiuli, Yize, Nanxing and Pangshan.The township is divided into seven islets by 15 rivers shaped like “chuan”, and 49 ancient Bridges link the islets together.The building stands by the water and is famous for `small Bridges and flowing family`. It is the most complete preserved ancient water town in Jiangsu Province and also a key cultural relic protection unit of the province. It has been listed as one of the thirteen major scenic spots of Taihu Lake.
