This Panthera tigris Tiger was captured at the the Lake Preditor Park, Hartebeespoort Dam, South Africa. It is an apex preditor primarly preying on ungulates like deer and wild boar in the wild. It is rerritorial and generally a solitary but social preditor, requiring large contiquous areas and habitat. Cubs stay with the mother for about 2 years. Once ranged widely from the Analolia Region in the west to the Amur River basin, and in the south from the foothills of the Himalayas to Bali in the Sunda Islands.Since the early 20th century tiger population degreased at least 93% Today their range are fragmented, stretching from Siberian temperate forests to subtropical forests on the Indian subcontinent at Sumatra.
