Although mankind has been using wire since prehistoric times, the classic wire craft was born in the 16th century in Slovakia. Daily necessities began to be made from wire. The wire was also used to strengthen kitchen utensils ceramics, clay, as a prevention against breakage. Or, conversely, if a vessel was broken, the tinker glued the vessel with a mixture of water and flour and then strengthened it with wire. The greatest expansion of wire industry was recorded at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.
