Also called Hanuman monkey, scientific name Semnopithecus, this is native to the Indian subcontinent and widespread, inhabiting forests, open woodland and even urban areas. Currently eight species are well established. Most species are found at low to moderate altitudes, but the Nepal gray langur and Kashmir gray langur occur up to 13,000 ft. in the Himalayas. Langurs are gray, with a black face and ears and have long tails. Mainly herbivores, they spend half their time on the ground and the other half in the trees, from where they keep a sharp lookout for predators, warning other forest denizens with their sharp barking alarm calls. This picture was shot in the evening near Agasthya Falls, in South India, on September 18, 2019, with a Canon DSLR EOS 550D at 1/125 sec. f/4 and 85mm focal length.
