Historic building, it was commissioned by the Carboniferous and Industrial Company of Lota in 1944 to the architect Eduardo Knockaert, and built in an art deco style. It is a cultural space that was built mainly for the recreation of the Lota coal mine workers. In this theater artistic shows, movies were presented and it was even a space dedicated to boxing. However, with the passage of time it was less and less used until it was abandoned and in poor infrastructure conditions. Currently the Lota theater is being remodeled and will soon open after more than a decade of neglect and deterioration.
