GO sign for Peace . Go or i-go or weiqi or baduk is a more than 4000 years old abstract strategy board game that provably origins from China. Therefore it could be the world´s oldest board game. On the photograph one can see the international well known and famous sign for “ Peace ” which is designed with white and black playing pieces or stones on the wooden board of the famous Go BoardGame. The original Peace sign to which this photograph relates was designed 1958 as logo for the British Nuclear Disarmament Movement by the designer Gerald Holtom. The concept behind the sign is that it is a super-imposition of the semaphore signals of the letter “ N “ and “ D “ for Nuclear Disarmament.
