Retired heavyweight boxer Joe Frazier joins iconic women athletes such as swimmer Donna de Verona, tennis trailblazers Billie Jean King and Martina Navratilova, track stars and Olympians Willye B. White and Jackie Joyner-Kersee, and Olympic figure skater Sasha Cohen at the dedication ceremony for the Billie Jean King International Women`s Sports Hall of Fame on Lower Broadway in Manhattan on October 17, 2006. The King section was to be part of a larger National and International Sports Museum which opened later, on May 7, 2008. But the effort went bust and closed its doors on February 20-, 2009 as expected attendance failed to materialize and debt mounted into the millions of dollars.
