Alabama born and raised Rebecca Luker arrives for the 61st annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on June 10, 2007 with her husband, Tony nominated actor and singer, Danny Burstein. On the left of the crowded carpet are Ben Vereen and his guest. Burstein was up for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his work in `The Drowsy Chaperone,` while Luker was nominated for her Featured role in `Mary Poppins.` Luker, an operatic soprano, was a singer, recording artist, cabaret and opera singer, and an actress on stage, screen, and television. She was nominated for three Tony Awards. in 2019 she was diagnosed with ALS, from which she died, in a Manhattan hospital on December 23, 2020, at the age of 59.
