The Earl Warren Building at 350 McAlister Street in San Francisco is the Supreme Court building for California, with courts also being held as needed in both Sacramento and Los Angeles. Named in honor of Earl Warren, the 14th Chief Justice, as well as having been the 30th Governor of California. The building opened in 1922 with first arguments heard in 1923. The building was closed for then years following the Loma Prieta earthquake of 1989, finally reopening only in 1999. As seen October 2021.
