Narrow medieval passage, stone houses with small windows and vintage lanterns on the ancient walls. Saint-Montan is a French medieval village, located in the Ardèche department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. By the 1970s, the historical part of the commune was nothing but ruins. It has been rebuilt and reconstructed stone after stone by thousands local and international volunteers. Today it is one of the most beautiful villages in southern Ardèche. Retaining its medieval appearance, Saint-Montan is classified as a Village of Character Village de Caractère.
