Golden everlasting or strawflower, Xerochrysum bracteatum, is an annual that grows up to 1m tall with green or gray deciduous leaves. Golden yellow or white flowers bloom from spring to autumn, their specialty are paper petals reminiscent of petals. Flowers attract beneficial insects such as adult butterflies, grasshoppers, bees, beetles and grasshoppers. It is a very adaptable annual, which was originally classified as Helichrysum bracteatum and grows well in the garden. Flowers are useful for bouquets or for dried flowers as decoration.
