The terra-cotta Warriors, also known as the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses of Qin Shi Huang, also referred to as the Terra-cotta Warriors or The Terra-Cotta Warriors, is one of the first national key cultural relics protection units and one of the first Chinese World Heritage sites. It is located in the Terra-cotta Warriors pit 1.5 kilometers east of the Mausoleum of Emperor Qin Shi Huang in Lintong District, Xi `an city, Shaanxi Province. Terra-cotta warriors and horses are a category of ancient tomb sculptures, which appeared as funerary objects in ancient tombs. Terra-cotta warriors and horses are funerary objects in the shape of chariots, horses and soldiers. On March 4, 1961, the Mausoleum of Emperor Qin Shihuang was announced by The State Council as one of the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units. In March 1974, the terracotta Warriors were discovered.
