Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park, at twelve acres, is big enough to have its own island with a hill, Strawberry Hill Island. Two bridges, both built in the 1890`s, connect the outer perimeter of the lake to the Island. This is Roman bridge, built in the style of the ancient Roman bridges throughout their empire. Many of them, over two thousand years old, are still in active use today. As seen February 2022.
