Goats, Capra hircus, and their behavior, as one of the oldest domesticated animals, are well known to man. It is because of their ability to easily and safely graze where man with grass cutting equipment cannot get, that goats are now being employed for the purpose of grass maintenance. The Northern California city of Roseville, with its many rugged fields, and due to the high fire dangers of the area, as well as the growing amount of invasive grasses, have been employing goats for many years now in an ecologically friendly way to handle the dual problem of the grasses. They are also fun to watch, as seen 27 April 2022.
