This bald eagle was on exhibit at the Worcester Ecotarium/ Science Center. The `bald` eagle, with its snowy feathers, NOT bald, head and white tail is the proud national bird of the United States. yet the bird was nearly wiped out there. FOr many years, this bird was hunted out for sport and the protection of fishing grounds. Halieaeatus Species. commonly found inland along rivers and lakes. The adult male is generally around 90 cm 36 inches long.
