This little female cardinal seems to be sitting on the seed cakes under the birdfeeder roof seeking shelter from the snow. She is away from the weather as she enjoys her meal. I love in this picture how it almost seems as if she is examining the seed before she eats it. The snow on top of the roof is piled up and blocked from her. I love the colors of the female cardinals and how they seem to have the more subtle shades. This picture was taken on my desk in the East Coventry township outside of Pottstown in Pennsylvania.
