The Leucospermum conocarpodendron is a very intriguing plant in that it is able to survive most fires, and even needs them to survive. Also interesting is how native ants have developed along with this plant, the ants will take the fruits to their underground nests, and once finished with them, remove it to their `garbage` area, which fertilizes the seeds deep underground.
