Zinnia elegans jacqu.: annual herb. Stems erect, 30-100 cm tall, strigose or hirsute. Leaves broadly ovate or oblong elliptic, rough on both sides, densely strigose below, with three veins at the base. The ligulate flower is dark red, rose, purple or white, the tongue piece is obovate, the apex is 2-3-toothed or entire, the upper part is pubescent, and the lower part is villous.
