Traveling around different areas, you will notice the Transmission Power Lines have colored balls attached along the lines. Those balls, with a size range of about 20 to 36 inches 50.8 to 91.44 cm, and weigh about 17 pounds 7.71 K have nothing to do with decoration, or signal space aliens. They are there for safety, for planes and helicopters flying low over mountainous areas, near airports, and freeways. They are there to make the location of the thin lines more apparent. Not only are they required by the Federal Aviation Administration, but so are the exact colors, of `Aviation` yellow, white and orange.
