Andrew Carnegie is a very well known industrialist who donated most of his personal wealth for the improvement of society. One of the big things he is best remembered for in his improvements is building libraries across the country, and many other countries. Seven of the Carnegie libraries are in San Francisco, including this Golden Gate Valley Library. Built in 1918 by Ernest Coxhead in the Basilica Style, the building received landmark status for its cultural and social developments.
