The coconut variety known as the king coconut (Cocos nucifera) is indigenous to Sri Lanka. where it is referred to as taembili (Sinhala). There are various subvarieties of the king coconut, the most popular of which is the red dwarf (kaha thmbili, also known as gon thmbili), which has less sugar content than regular coconuts. The other kind is Ran Thmbili,[2][unreliable source?] a more limited selection that comes in bunches of roughly forty nuts. The king coconut tree is smaller than other coconut trees and is frequently seen growing wild around the nation. In Ayurveda, king coconut water has been employed (herbal medicine). One of the most popular applications is mixing Aralu powder (Myrobalans) with king coconut water. Various kinds of packaged king coconut water are presently exported from Sri Lanka.
