This is a Condylostylus genus fly, Dolichopodidae family (long-legged flies). Second largest genus in the Sciapodinae subfamily with more than 250 species included. High diversity in the Neotropical realm, where 70% of the species occur. Beautiful and beneficial flies. They are very small with bright metalic colours: green, red, golden yellow, bluish. They help to control pests in the gardens. It is just wonderful to observe quietly to these flies posed on green leaves on a sunny morning. Maya Biosphere Reserve (MBR), Petén, Guatemala.
