Gharial Gavialis gangeticus or Gavial or Fish-eating crocodile sunbasking at the border of the Pond. These fresh water reptiles found in clean rivers like Chambal which flows through Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh in India. They are highly endangered species and facing many challenges including illegal sand mining, river pollution, use of pesticides in the agriculture fields around the river and cathcment area, excess and uncontrolled fishing.
