Enjoy the long and winding road through farmland, and the tiny coastal village, to stunning Otamure, a classic Northland East Coast sandy beach framed by rocky outcrops, mature pohutukawas, and stream. Dig your toes into the sand, take a dip in the cool water or throw a fishing line off the rocks at either end. At the northern end of the campground, just past the one-way bridge on Rockell Road, is the Watkin Powell Track which takes you up and over the hill about ten minutes to even more secluded Tauwhara Bay - you may have the entire beach to yourself! Pick up supplies at the local store there`s only one at the Whananaki village and stay at the Department of Conservation campsite. Allow 50 mins drivetime.
