Here an illustration painted on a music sheet for orchestra of koi fish. Koi fish or more specifically nishikigoi are colored varieties of the Amur carp Cyprinus rubrofuscus that are kept for decorative purposes in outdoor koi ponds. In Japan on May 5th they celebrate Children’s Day, where koi fish Japanese carp streamers are hung dancing in the wind above houses. In this Japanese tradition, called koi nobori, koi fish streamers of different colors and sizes are decorated outside of the house in a specific order to represent each member of the family.
