The city is located on the shore of the bay of the same name in the Aegean Sea, 90 km south of the third largest city of Turkey Izmir, and 71 km from the city of Ayd?n the administrative center of the province. The city of Kusadasi is the administrative center of the district of the same name, bordering two districts of ila Ayd?n: Germencik, Söke and Selçuk district of Izmir province.Near the coast of the district is the Greek island of Samos, the center of Ionian culture in antiquity.A mere 10 kilometers northeast of the city lies the archaeological site of the famous ancient city of Ephesus.
