The Arctic fox is a small fox native to the Arctic regions of the Northern Hemisphere. It has beautiful fur that changes color in the summer to white and a gorgeous bluish-gray in the winter. Its coat provides excellent insulation from the cold weather and helps it to endure frigid temperatures as low as -58°F. Arctic foxes also have unique physical characteristics such as bushy tails and short, rounded ears that keep them warm. They are skilled hunters and feed mostly on small rodents and birds, but they are also opportunistic scavengers and will take advantage of any carrion they find. Arctic foxes are relatively solitary animals and can be found in the tundra of countries like Canada, Russia, Alaska, and Scandinavia.
