In the heart of the Saronic island group, Hydra is only an hour's voyage from Athens. An interesting fact about the island is that no cars are allowed on it: donkeys, mules, and horses are used for transportation. This is a photo of the harbor boulevard with many tourists. In the center is the bell tower of the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos. The dome of the church is visible on the right of the bell tower.The church was built in the 17th century and follows the example of the post-Byzantine ecclesisastical architecturtal tradition.
