Pictured is the right apse chapel in the Church of Saint George in Varenna on Lake Como. On the right is the Mother of Sorrows statue of of Mary, mother of Jesus. It's Latin inscription is Mater Dolorosa. A statue of Jesus on the Cross is set atop a small altar in the center of four candelabras with white candles. In the background is the worn fresco with St. John the Baptist, a Saint Bishop and Saint George on the left, while on the right are Saint Bernard with a white cowl and Saint Mary Magdelene among some nuns.
