Stephen Tower is the bell tower of the former church dedicated to "Saint King Stefan" in Baia Mare. The tower is located in close proximity to Liberty Square - the Central Square (Circulus fori) - of the old city. It was built in the 15th century.The first documentary attestation of the "St. Stephen" church dates from 1347. The construction of the massive stone tower began after 1446, but was completed only in 1468. The entrance to the tower is through the door from the south. The first level is reached by a spiral stone staircase. From here to the gazebo, access is via wooden stairs. The building measures about 50 meters and, from the porch, offers a special panorama of the entire city.
