Male: Black head and throat On the head is a crest of long steel-blue feathers the lower part of the back is metallic yellow Chestnut hips and tail feathers The long, crescent-shaped tail is steel blue the remainder has a gray neck and chest The abdomen is black. Female: Head, throat and neck are c, upper back and lower body are tawny brown, abdomen is pale white The rest of the upper body has broad stripes of brown and white with a black tint. The outer tail feathers are chestnut in color.
