The Géronstère spring is located in the Belgian municipality of Spa. The source is located south of Spa, behind the forest, near where the Chemin des Fontaines and Route de la Géronstère meet the Rue de Barisart. The spring water comes from the Malchamps peat.The source is almost called "the raging water" and is said to have been regularly visited by Tsar Peter the Great. The water is carbonated, iron-containing and has a sulfur taste.The source is at an altitude of 400 meters and the river Géronstère carries the water down the slope towards Spa.
