Buy Thai arts products and visit the palace SACICT covers a large area on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. There are also other interesting places such as Pla palace, Suan Nok (bird garden). An event is held by the SACICT at the Chao Phraya River annually during Loy Krathong festival, which is very popular. Queen Sirikit has ordered workers to build SACICT on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, Tambol Chang Yai, Amphur Bang Sai. The intention of the Queen Sirikit is to teach arts to farmers in order to help them earn additional income after the harvest period. The SACICT provides experts in each field to teach the trainees. When they are able to produce their own products, SACICT will buy these products, sell them at Chitladda Shop and export to other countries. Nowadays, there are more than twenty departments in SACICT such as tailoring, furniture making, pattern department and so forth. Each year, two groups of trainees – 500 in each – will be trained in a period of six months. All the facilities are provided for the trainee. Tourists can see the process of making the products and buy them.
