As soon as you glimpse the town of Ampudia, the portentous bell tower of the collegiate church of San Miguel stands out on the roof of its hamlet, known in the area as the "Giralda de Campos", its similarity to the tower will have something to do with this nickname. Sevillian... and the 63 m of refined height that rise towards the Ampudian sky. The tower has seven sections, its construction began in 1540 by Juan de Escalante. At its feet stands a building that dates back to the 12th century, but it did not reach the magnitude of the current structure until practically the 16th century. This dilation in time configures in the temple a conjugation of artistic styles, ranging from the Romanesque that can be seen at the base of its tower, to the most lavish Renaissance, passing through its main consideration, the Gothic. The temple is configured in three naves, separated by semicircular pillars that are covered with star-crossed vaults.
